In early 2016, Trek released the new Procaliber 9.7sl. Their brand new bike is aimed to appeal to the XC racer who is looking to race aswell as rip'up the local trails. It is available in one colour - a vibrant green with a blue shock on the front. The ProCal is a hardtail with a new piece of technology brought over by Trek Segafredo (Trek's pro road racing team). Iso-Speed is located where traditionally the seat-tube and top-tube would be molded together. Trek has made them two separate pieces, which allows the seat post and tube to move freely upon impact. I currently own this bike and this is my main race bike for all of my races across Ontario. For anyone doubting the Iso-speed decoupler, it definitely works. It does an amazing job at making brake-bumps and rock gardens feel like nothing at all.
Its equipped with Shimano Deore brakes and Sram GX 1 x 11 shifters. The rockshox reba fits nicely as it is a 100mm fork that silences those rocks and obstacles. Bontrager XR1 expert tires help keep you planted on the trail. The bike weighs 24.4 pounds which is fairly impressive for today's cross country market.
Full suspension mountain bike might dominate the your local trails, but when it comes to speed and responsiveness, hardtails still take the win. Some things that you will love about this bike are - fast and responsive handling, and acceleration that will leave you stunned.
Overall, the Procaliber 9.7 sl is one of the smoothest hardtails I have ever ridden and is extremely fast when it comes to racing. I would definitely recommend contacting your local Trek dealer and giving the Procal a try!

The Iso -speed decoupler offers 11mm of seat post flex.
